NaNoWriMo is over for this year!
Alas, all good things must come to an end and NaNoWriMo is over for 2020. Congratulations to all the students who participated, especially those who made their word count goals! Collectively we wrote over 120,000 words and had a great time gathering together over Zoom. Hope to see many of you back next year, and I hope everyone checks out our Anthology, this year available as an eBook!
What is NaNoWriMo?
NaNoWriMo stands for "National Novel Writing Month." It is a challenge for aspiring novel-writers to write 50,000 words in the month of November.
It's a little bit like running a marathon. But for writers.
SHMS' NaNoWriMo Club
SHMS' NanoWriMo Club is for any SHMS students or staff members who wants to join in a community of writers for support, inspiration, encouragement, and sharing. All writers are welcome!
Do you have to participate in the official NaNoWriMo Challenge and try to write 50,000 words? No! But members of the club are encouraged to set their own writing goals, be it a word count goal, a page goal, trying a new genre or style, or even a new publishing method (i.e. writing a blog)
Our club will meet online via Zoom on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays during the month of November from 3:30pm to 5pm. You do not have to stay on the Zoom meeting the entire time, just the beginning and the end. We will also have in-person meetings: Cohort A can meet on Mondays from 3:30pm to 5pm and Cohort B on Tuesdays. Cohort C students may join in person if they want to: last names A-L on Mondays, last names M-Z on Tuesdays.
HOw do you join?
Join the Schoology Group (9DBFN-MJ4R2) and complete the Sign up Form by Friday, October 30th.
See Ms. Mildahl (Lauren.Mildahl@district196.org) if you have any questions.
