6th Grade Choir

Sixth grade music is designed to offer a wide variety of musical experiences. Students will make music by singing, playing electric keyboards and playing acoustic guitars. Students will also listen to and learn about different styles of music from classical to jazz. In addition, students will be introduced to patriotic music, musicals, world music, GarageBand, music history, and music in the movies.

7th Grade Choir

Do you want to sing fun songs with your friends? Register for Choir! In Choir, we sing everything from Bach to rock; everything from “Ode to Joy” to “Lean on Me”, and music of different world cultures! Choir is all large group singing, so no need to worry if you are a shy singer! However, for you star singers, there are also solo and small group opportunities! Additional choir opportunities include flex choirs, a cappella groups (similar to Pentatonix), and group voice lessons. Choir members have the opportunity to perform in at least two concerts throughout the year. Come with a great attitude and positive participation while we have fun making music together in Choir!

8th Grade Choir

In eighth grade choir, we continue to sing fun songs from a variety of musical styles! No prior experience is necessary, and students new to the choir program are welcome! In addition to our two regular concerts, 8th grade students may have the opportunity to represent SHMS in the All-District 8th Grade Choir Festival! Additional choir opportunities include flex choirs, a cappella groups (similar to Pentatonix), and group voice lessons. So, bring a great attitude and positive participation to eighth grade choir and enjoy!
